Just had an amazing time at work today... I started working in the art department at school, which has me MANIACALLY BUSY because I'm still taking a full courseload, but my job does come with perks; today I was helping out in the 'Intro to Studio Art' class, and they were making clay masks. Since I am well versed in clay, I not only helped, but I got to make a quick little mask, too:
I'm pretty pleased with how it's looking... I still love the Venetian masks that aren't glittery and overdone... I like the dramatic, emotional masks - I was going for that look.
Here are a few bits from painting class -
NAKED MAN! (Painted in white/black only):
Exciting things like red bell pepper on green cloth:
This was just screwing around with a pallet knife:
And the ever-present COLOR WHEEL, the staple of every art class (along with all of the still lifes - eat your veggies!)
If you want insight to what Valency is made of, just look at the things I unconsciously choose as my subjects when given any freedom:
NEKKID MEN AND SATAN?? Hmmmm... Who is this girl?

More Photoshop And Twitter Makes Me A Lazy Blogger
So I saved my latest Photoshop project as a .jpg; we had to make a CD cover and a CD. Um, all of the orange values have decided to be blue when I uploaded it. Wierd.
Just imagine the orangey reds.
Maybe it's just my computer. Making it a .jpg was the only way I could upload it to Blogger, since my Flickr account is currently busy uploading pictures of the most recent still lifes from painting class. You see, if you bring a camera to class, everyone will ask to borrow it because everyone forgets their cameras and there is never enough time to finish your painting in class and our studios are too small to leave still lifes set up so HEY, GO RIGHT AHEAD AND BORROW MY CAMERA. I won't email it to you, though. You can rip it from my Flickr account, thank you very much!
I can't talk too much smack, though, because I forgot my camera last week and had to borrow someone's camera. Ooops.
We worked with pallet knives this week; I don't know if it was the knives or the still lifes or just my juju was off, but I had a hard time in class. I'm still truckin', though...
These are the reference photos for my PS project... The tree picture from the Grand Canyon, a fire picture I ripped off the web, and my eye picture I drew 2 years ago:

I've decided to blame Twitter for my absence. I adore squeezing my bits of genius into 140 characters or less. Best of all is Favrd, where you can read the best of the best of people's texted tidbits. There is some really amazing stuff...

Photoshop Project a la Valency
I really hate uploading pictures to my blog. I have NO PATIENCE for the waiting, and when I get an error message, I want to scream 'NOOOOOOooooooo!'
I really just need to go Flickr Pro and figure it all out - do they have a quick upload doo-hickey? I could also never figure out how to put my Flickr images into my blog... I am LAME.
Photoshop class that I'm taking online is going well, after a few initial hiccups, trying to figure out how to upload my homework correctly. (It is my first online class - I HATE online classes and try to avoid them like the plague, but I really wanted to learn Photoshop). Here is my most recent Exam/Project... it's a 'Postcard', and YES, it had to be this silly (if I wanted to get a good grade):
So I have a million pictures on my computer that I could blog about right now, but I am NOT in the mood to upload bubkus.
And I almost cried 3 times in my Painting I class on Friday... I discovered in no uncertain terms that I CANNOT SCUMBLE. Dood, I do NOT think I'm a painter of epic proportions AT ALL. My teacher is trying to get me to be Zen and coax the scumble out of my ass but all I feel about it is the SCUM.
